Gift Aid Awareness Day

Thursday 6 October 2022 is Gift Aid Awareness day and Charities Aid Foundation are asking eligible donors to make sure they “tick the box” and elect for gift aid to be added to their charitable donations.

UK taxpayers can increase their charitable donations by up to 25% by applying gift aid to donations – for every £1 you donate the charity will receive an extra 25p!

In addition to boosting your donation individuals who are liable to UK income tax at the higher rate will also benefit from additional tax savings too.

As part of Gift Aid Awareness Day charities are being encouraged to make sure they are utilising the Gift Aid Scheme, as well as asking donors to remember to elect to apply gift aid to their donations.

Individuals must have paid enough UK income tax to cover any gift aid donations made in the year.

Contact our office if we can help you or your charity with Gift Aid claims.
